Dudley Dudley was an 9-year-old male (neutered) Labrador Retriever. He had emergency surgery in October to remove a bleeding tumor of the spleen. Dudley was in surgery for almost two hours and required a blood transfusion. Tumors of the spleen are somewhat common in middle-aged and older large breed dogs. They can be benign or malignant, and sometime fatal. They can also spread to other parts of the body. Dudley passed away in August after eight high-quality months with his human & canine companions. We will all miss him very much.
